Concept Development Part B (Model 1:5)
Half drilled holes on the underside of the ply which allow the steel rods to sit nicely into them too avoid any messy looking fixings.
Each rod will be welded to a plate which will be the size of the hole cut on the underside of the seat.
Structurally very sound due to the placement, height, and length of the rods.
I have decided to stick with the concept of using plywood as the seat component of my chair. Roughly 18mm thick and 400mm in diameter.
Each rod attaching itself to the circumference of the seat will be 400mm long the other 3 rods connecting themselves to the middle of the seat will be 450mm long (due to the diagonal).
